…even worse – been ghosted?
Emily Winters in The Ghosting of Rabbie Burns knows all about it. What she can’t get a grip of is the new online dating scene that emerged while she spent the past decade with the love of her life – who’s just ghosted her.
She runs away from the gossip (along with her latest writing deadline) and visits her late aunt’s cottage in Ayrshire, Scotland. On a stormy winter’s night in January, she gets a visitation even scarier than the amount of times she’s been to the off-licence today – but the pain isn’t going away…until the ghost of Rabbie Burns appears to give her some dating advice! Rabbie Burns, Lothario supreme, giving her dating advice…this should be good.
Featuring the great songs and poems of Burns, such as ‘My Love is Like a Red Red Rose’, ‘Ae Fond Kiss’, ‘Charlie is my Darlin’ and of course ‘Auld Lang Syne’, this ‘hilarious’ comedy by Gillian Duffy proves that love and relationships haven’t changed that much in 200 years after all.
N.B. This is a one act play with no interval.
