FESTIVE OPENING HOURS
North Lanarkshire Libraries
Over the festive period North Lanarkshire Libraries will open as normal, apart from Chryston Library, which will close on Friday 19 December at 5pm and reopen on Monday 5 January at 10am. Newmains Library will be closed on Wednesday 24 December, Wednesday 31 December and Saturday 3 January.
All library branches will close at 4pm on Wednesday 24 and Wednesday 31 December.
Moodiesburn Library will operate the following opening times during the festive period:
Monday 22: 10am – 3pm
Tuesday 23: 10am – 3pm
Wednesday 24: 10am – 3pm
Saturday 27: 10am – 1pm
Monday 29: 10am – 3pm
Tuesday 30: 10am – 3pm
Wednesday 31: 10am – 3pm
Saturday 3: 10am – 1pm

Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life
Summerlee Museum will be open 10am – 4pm throughout the festive season, however, it will be closed on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 December and Thursday 1 and Friday 2 January.
North Lanarkshire Heritage Centre
North Lanarkshire Heritage Centre will close at 4pm on Wednesday 24 December and reopen at 12pm on Monday 5 January.
Airdrie Town Hall Box Office
The Advance Booking Office at Airdrie Town Hall will be closed from Thursday 25 December and will reopen on Monday 5 January. The Box Office at Airdrie Town Hall will be opened as below:
Wednesday 24 December: Open from 9am – 12pm
Thursday 25 December: closed
Friday 26 December: pantomime performance day*
Saturday 27 December: pantomime performance day*
Sunday 28 December: pantomime performance day*
Monday 29 December: pantomime performance day*
Tuesday 30 December: pantomime performance day*
Wednesday 31 December: pantomime performance day*
*Pantomime performance day: the Box Office will be open 30 minutes prior to each panto performance and responding to inquiries during shows.
Please note, pantomime performances take place each day at 2pm and 7pm (except for Christmas Eve and New Years Eve when the evening performance will start at 6pm).
The Box Office team will resume normal service from Monday 5 January 2025.

Airdrie Town Hall
How do I book tickets?
Tickets can be booked online or over the phone by calling our box office on 01698 274545 (please see Box Office opening times). You can also buy your tickets on the day of the performance*. Doors open 30 minutes before the show.

What events are on?
The annual pantomime, Snow White, is currently running until 31 December at Airdrie Town Hall. If you’d like to attend, you can check ticket availability on the event page.

Are art classes running over the festive period?
Our arts classes finished w/c 8 December and will restart for term 3 in 2025.
All term 3 arts classes are available to book in advance now.
North Lanarkshire Libraries
How do I request my library password or reset my password?
Your library password is required for access to our online catalogue and to use BorrowBox – our eLibrary app.
If you have an email address on your library membership with us you can request your library password by using the Forgot Your Password feature on our online catalogue. This can also be used to reset your password if you have forgotten your current password.
Alternatively, please email libraries@northlan.gov.uk with your name, library card number and date of birth. Our staff will assist you during office hours.
How can I renew the items I have out on loan?
You can renew your items online by logging into your account.
Alternatively, you can visit or call your local library during our opening hours.
How long do I have to collect a reservation from my local library?
Our reservations are held for library customers for 7 days from the day it arrives at the pick-up location library.
If you are unable to collect your item(s) within this period, please contact your local library – in some circumstances it may be possible to hold the item for a few extra days.
How can I access library services over the holiday period?
Our eLibrary services are available 24/7. You can access our eBook, eAudiobook, eMagazine and eNewspaper services via the BorrowBox app. Find more information on how to access these services.
Will regular library activities be on over the Christmas period?
Most of our regular library activities do stop over the festive period. You can check which activities are still on during the Christmas period on our online catalogue – Visit the Events section and search for the name of your local library. For information about an activity, please contact the relevant library for more information.
